Multiply 2022 Conversations: A conversation on lay planting

Bernice Hardie is the leader of WAVE Church in North London, a mixed ability church group where individuals with and without learning disabilities come together to worship. At Multiply 2022, she joined John McGinley, executive director of Myriad, for a conversation on her experiences of lay planting and the ways in which Myriad is supporting the needs of lay planters, learning through the insights of leaders like Bernice.

‘Wave in a Box’ is a culmination of resources, guidance and top tips that Wave for Change has collected since 2009 to encourage others to create mixed-ability initiatives in their communities. It provides:

  • Personal advice from the leader of an existing WAVE group
  • A mixed-ability team to support you as you plan and hold an event
  • Access to Wave in a Box resources with a range of tips, ideas, printable and video resources
  • You become part of the Wavemaker Forum to share learning and encourage each other
  • Research and learning from the team analysing the impact WAVE groups are having
