Living Hope Church demonstrating God’s love for Thurmaston

Living Hope Church in Thurmaston is offering God's love and hospitality to its local community in many accessible and creative ways, demonstrating that the Church and the gospel is for everyone.

Living Hope Church was planted in 2023, in an area of Thurmaston which includes a large housing development previously unreached by a church.

The church’s vision is to welcome local people from all cultures and faith backgrounds, especially those who may have thought church was not for them.

Meeting in a school hall, the team is seeking to break down preconceptions and show through God’s love and hospitality that the Church and the gospel is for everyone.

The team at Living Hope is engaging with the many young families of the area in many creative ways. This has included running a children’s holiday club and a ‘Build and Breakfast’ morning, popular with local dads who attend with their kids to build Lego, hear the gospel, eat together and connect with others in church.

Watch here as Revd Steve Sweet, church planting curate, and Yvonne Potterton, community evangelist, tell the story of Living Hope Church, and how it longs to share the love of God with the 13,000 people it is called to serve.
