Cranmer Hall Centre for Church Planting Theology and Research

Cranmer Hall’s Centre for Church Planting Theology and Research seeks to serve the church by carrying out theological reflection on the activity of starting new churches. What are we learning about God and about the Church; especially as she interacts with our contemporary world? We believe that the church is always served by a dynamic conversation between praxis and theology, and we seek to do this in two ways. Firstly, through a growing network of theologian practitioners, who contribute to the conversation and produce pieces of original theological reflection, so to help to change the conversation about church planting and starting new churches with the Church of England and beyond. Second, we carry out original theological-empirical research in churches and dioceses, asking the dual questions: what activity is going on, and, what are we seeing God doing in this?
