Pioneering

Encouraging the Church to pioneer, starting new church communities in creative ways

Pioneers are envoys of the good news of Jesus, called to go beyond the church walls and create communities amongst those who don’t naturally connect with church culture. At CCX we help the Church pioneer, starting new church communities in creative ways

We connect Pioneers together for support, training them in the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to launch new church communities where they are most needed.

The communities Pioneers help create are born out of the culture of the wider community they are sent to. Communities that form around their contextual mission can appear in a variety of places and amongst any kind of people.

Pioneers are envoys of the good news of Jesus. Often gifted evangelists and innovators, they are called by God to reach those beyond the walls of the church, to seek new opportunities.

Pioneers learn from their communities, developing ways to engage them in the kingdom. They are entrepreneurial, creating resources and tools to communicate Jesus to those who don’t know him.

Surveys tell us that 92% of people in the UK don’t regularly attend church on Sundays. Pioneers are called to go beyond the church walls and create communities amongst those who don’t naturally connect with church culture.

As Pioneers work with those outside church culture, they can be misunderstood by those inside it. CCX connects Pioneers together for support, training them in the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to launch new church communities where they are most needed.

Because Pioneers are called to go outside the usual church culture, the communities they help create are born out of the culture of the wider community they are sent to. This means that communities can appear in a variety of places and amongst any kind of people.

Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
