Multiplying new worshipping communities in Belgrave

Out of an initial idea to run a Messy Church, Belgrave St Peter’s Church in Leicester is now running three new monthly gatherings, reaching out to support the community and introduce people to Jesus.

When 100 people signed up for a Christmas Messy Church at Belgrave St Peter’s Church, Leicester, in 2022, leader Anne Scott and her team knew they were on to something good. Since then, Messy Church has gone from strength to strength, gathering families once a month to enjoy this intergenerational way of worshipping together.

Two more gatherings have been started in response to the community interest and a desire to support local people, establishing a pattern of three services a month – Messy Church, Mossy Church (‘a church without walls’ meeting outside) and Cafe Church. Anne and her team are also being supported by Catalyst, a Myriad Hub supporting lay-planters in Leicester.

Alongside the services, a community cupboard has been started in a local pub with a Bible study small group meeting alongside. Listen to Anne share the impact of the gatherings in building strong relationships with people and seeing people begin a journey of discipleship.
