Grow Course

Winchester Cohort

Everything you need for your Grow Course

Accessing the Course

The course is made up of four modules: Vocation, Formation, Mission, and Multiplication.

Each module is worked on over a three-month period which includes a coaching session for the team lead and a learning community for the whole church team. The learning for each of the modules is accessed in three ways:

  1. Self-guided Learning: Everyone doing the course (both the church leader and every member of the church team) should to complete the self-guided learning for each module. As we each have different technology learning styles, there are two options to access the Self-guided Learning; they are identical, but just accessed differently. Please choose one and try and stick to it for a whole module.
    • Learning app called Gnowbe – this is a fun, trackable platform and accessed via a phone. For more detailed information on how to access the course, download our PDF tutorial here.
    • Webpage – a simple option to access the course via a computer
  1. Team Essentials: In preparation for each Learning Community it is advisable to watch a selection of short (10-20min) videos as a team and work through the associated questions. These are all accessible here.
  2. Dig Deeper: If you would like to know more about a topic, head over to the ‘Dig Deeper’ section in each module below, such as the following for Vocation.

If you have further questions, please email us at grow@ccx.org.uk.

Welcome & FAQ

Welcome to the Grow Course! Here is what you need to know.

In this course, we will invite you to share thoughts about your church and consider what you can do to journey towards health and growth. We recognise that this can sometimes be difficult to discuss and to share openly.

Your Action Plans and the answers you write in the Self-guided Learning on Gnowbe can be accessed by CCX staff and coaches, but are not visible to other participants unless you choose to share them with your cohort.

One church leader per church will have access to eight one-to-one coaching sessions over the next 12 months.

Church leaders will need to complete the following:

  • Assigning your coach. You will receive an email introducing you to your coach. Please make contact with them and arrange your first coaching session.
  • Ensure the completion of our Church Metrics Form every six months.
  • Foster the right learning conditions for your team, by organising regular meetings to discuss the course content.

A learning community is a three-hour meeting for church teams, held every two-to-three months in person (please find locations below). In this meeting, you will have a chance to discuss the online content with other churches and to work on an Action Plan for your church.

Dates of upcoming learning communities:

  • Welcome: 2 November 2023, 10am-1pm
  • Vocation: 11 January 2024, 10am-1pm
  • Formation: 21 March 2024, 10am-1pm
  • Mission: 9 May 2024, 10am-1pm
  • Multiplication: 18 July 2024, 10am-1pm

An Action Plan is a document that helps you outline your next steps as a church. It is there to help you prioritise your tasks and focus on what matters. You will be encouraged to fill out your Action Plan throughout the course during Learning Communities.

Your first Learning Community will be on Thursday 2 November from 10am-1pm at the following location:

Diocesan Office, Wolvesey, Winchester, SO23 9ND
