Marie Hunter
Grow Coach
Professionally qualified coach with a Post Graduate Diploma in coaching. Extensive experience of coaching in large and small organisations in public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
I have been working as a Grow Coach with the London Diocese for more than three years. My approach to coaching is to provide a supportive and listening focussed session, to use my intuition to ask insightful questions and encourage the individual to identify actions to help them solve issues and reach goals. My coaching style is to be both positive and encouraging, and also challenging and realistic.
Having been brought up in the Church of England I was then away from church for almost 40 years. My faith journey was re-ignited six years ago. I was confirmed in September 2018. I recently qualified as an Authorised Lay Minister and regularly run parish worship services.
Typically the type of issues worked on during coaching sessions include: leading change, team relationships, team development, leadership approach and delegation. Coaching provides time and space for leaders to talk through ideas and issues. Coaching helps by providing attentive listening and focussed questioning to examine what’s happening and what’s possible. By providing space for this focussed attention the person being coached will find their own way forward, when helpful I will share my experience of leadership and leading change (but only after the coachee has explored their options and ideas).
