Rejoicing and learning with Sale’s Myriad Hub
Steve Rankin shares his experience of establishing a Myriad Hub to support lay-led planting across Sale, Greater Manchester.

Steve Rankin is the vicar of St Mary’s, a lively, growing, all-age-friendly church in Ashton on Mersey, Sale.
Church planting has always been part of St Mary’s vision. The appointment of an associate vicar, Nathan Gregory, gave St Mary’s the capacity to think more seriously about what church planting might look like for them. It was at a New Wine leaders conference in 2024 that Steve and Nathan met CCX, gaining an opportunity to outline St Mary’s church planting ambitions. After what felt like a ‘real God moment’, they discerned that establishing a Myriad Hub to support lay-led planting would be the ideal next step.
