Chris Thomson

I am a member of the Archbishop’s College of Evangelists, and the Convenor of the Pioneer Community and Tutor on Contextual Learning, The Church in Wales. I am a Church Growth Coach in the Gregory Centre of Church Multiplication. A digital evangelist, I am the founder of the God Stories Today YouTube Channel. I have been a manager of a business in London for 16 years where innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit were promoted and seen as the norm.

I am a prayerful person of deep and practiced self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Growing up on the streets of South London was an irreplaceable school in human behaviour. I have a discerning heart that embraces people from all walks of life as they are. I have a gift for identifying people’s gifts and enabling them to be set free to embrace them into a new vision for their future.

In my 25 years of ministry, I have been a Licensed Lay Reader, a parish priest, a church planter, and an Area Director of Ordinands (ADO) in the Southwark Diocese. I have launched many Fresh Expressions of Church (across traditions). I have been a consultant Pioneer priest for the Diocese of Truro, helping to plant a Network of Resource Churches across Cornwall to revitalise mission and ministry and to renew the witness of the Church for this generation. I have facilitated Bishop Ric Thorpe’s Church Planting Course for Exeter Diocese, and Truro Diocese. As a digital evangelist, I am launching a fellowship of digital evangelists.

As a Church Growth Coach, I have stood alongside many churches in the London Diocese of all sizes and across traditions, and enabled them to plan for growth. I believe I am called to enable growth across God’s Church, and to equip its outreach in the 21st Century. I am a creative person, possessing entrepreneurial flair, and am committed to faithful innovation. It is my deepest desire to see development and growth that embraces all our traditions.
