Bishop Eleanor Sanderson

Bishop of Hull

Eleanor currently serves as the Bishop of Hull in the Diocese of York and is their lead bishop for Missionary Discipleship and Evangelism. Although originally from England, Eleanor was ordained in the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia where she lived and served for over 20 years. Before being called to Hull, Eleanor served as the Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Wellington, supporting a renewal of discipleship within the church, which included planting a new monastic residential community for students. With a background in cross-cultural research, international development and grassroot spiritual communities and mission, Eleanor’s heart is to see God’s church flourish as Christ-centred communities of missionary disciples.
