Bernice Hardie

Bernice was part of a team that started Wave (“We’re All Valued Equally”) Church in 2010, a church that is passionate about every person seeing and experiencing genuine inclusion within their community. Wave Church has been growing steadily for over a decade and were awarded the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Langton Award for Community Service in 2020. Bernice is also co-founder of Wave for Change, a charity that aims to use the experience their team have gained from starting and running inclusive groups in North London, to help other communities to mix.

Bernice and her daughter Jess (who has Downs Syndrome) recently partnered with UK Makaton Blessing creator Becky George to produce a resource booklet [LINK] that provides short, accessible and visual explanations of the fruit of the spirit – an ideal resource for mixed-ability bible study or worship meetings.
