Alex Harris is Director of Baptist Church Planting with the St Hild’s Centre for Church Planting, as well as Regional Minister for Church Planting and Pioneering for the Yorkshire Baptist Association. Additionally Alex and family are planting a micro-church collaboration in north Leeds, which forms the focus of his doctorate studies. He continues to lead the national Firestarters network – a friendship of growing churches helping other churches to grow. Prior to this Alex led a Baptist church in the Midlands that moved from a traditional model built around Sunday mornings to a network of multiple congregations in various locations, venues and contexts. He was converted from a confidently atheistic family context in his early twenties and initially worked as an evangelist for Christians in Sport, first amongst Universities and then based in China. He loves to be reminded that failure and fruit are both evidence of faithfulness when it comes to starting new ventures for Jesus.
