Fr Adam Gaunt

Rector of Loftus-in-Cleveland

Father Adam was born in Middlesbrough and grew up on Teesside. On completing his schooling, he gained a place to study Theology at Saint John’s College, University of Durham, and on completion of his first degree he studied for a master’s degree in Church History. Adam read for Holy Orders in Oxford, attending Saint Stephen’s House, and was ordained at York Minster in 2005, appointed Curate to Parish of The Ascension: Middlesbrough and was ordained priest in 2006. Father Adam was appointed Rector of Loftus-in-Cleveland & Carlin How with Skinningrove in March 2009 and has successfully increased the churches outreach to families and children in that time. In 2015 Adam was elected to the General Synod and again in 2021; subsequently being elected chair of the Catholic Group in November 2022.
