Cultivating community on the Roundshaw Estate

When David Atkinson, Springfield Church’s Pioneer Curate, set out to pioneer a new community on the Roundshaw Estate, he was given the instruction not to replicate an existing Sunday service. Here he tells CCX of the journey God led the Springfield team on, of discovering where God was already at work, cultivating and nurturing what he was growing.

Millions of people who live on social housing estates don’t have a local accessible worshipping community. That’s why we want to plant new worshipping communities where there is no church and help existing estate churches to flourish – just like David and the team at Springfield Church, Wallington.
