Andy Matheson

Leadership and Executive Coach

My qualifications include an education degree, a theological diploma and a Masters in inter-cultural studies with a specialism in leadership as well as a coaching certification. I am also certified in team coaching with Belbin and in personality profiling with C-me, and presently coach and train leaders in business, non-profit, and church contexts.

For 40 years, I worked within the orbit of Christian Mission, including 20 years in India and have been involved in pioneering ministry among disadvantaged communities around the world. A key part of my work has been to establish effective leadership teams and then support leaders in both the strategic aspects of their roles and the internal challenges they face.

I am passionate about helping leaders establish habits and perspectives that will enable them to lead well throughout their lives, especially in the challenging environment of church leadership. I am grateful for the opportunities to support church leaders both in the UK and in India as a coach and I see that as a real privilege.

In coaching conversations, I first seek to understand where leaders want to get to and then explore with them the potential paths to getting there. This often leads us into exploring both the challenges of the context and the internal challenges the leader faces. I see my role as both someone who questions and prompts, as well as someone who supports and encourages.
