Who is the Grow Course for?

The Grow Course is suitable for any church regardless of tradition or size.

Church teams of up to six people, led by the incumbent, work through the material with the support of the Gregory Centre. The course takes eight months to complete with coaching available after this.

We are often asked, ‘Who should I include on my team?’ It is important that the incumbent has the support they need to deliver the actions that come from this course. Your team may be made up of obvious choices such as church wardens, staff or PCC members, but you may wish to look further and include those who you believe have leadership potential and can help your church to grow in health, depth and impact. We also appreciate that most churches do not have staff and can include more than one church building. If you have any doubts or wish to chat this through, get in touch!

What if my church group cannot attend the learning communities?

Depending on when the learning communities are for your cohort, some people may be excluded from coming because of work or family commitments. Each Learning Community could realistically involve a day of annual leave or arranging childcare. In these cases, we suggest you discuss this with those individuals – it does not need to exclude them from the process. Some churches have a small group who attend the learning communities and report back to a wider group. A wider group doesn’t have to be limited to six people and can help gather traction and buy-in from the wider church.
