Barriers to growth and leading change – Team Time 2

It’s now time for you to meet as a church team again and discuss what you’ve learned so far.

Get comfortable
1. Get comfortable, perhaps with cake and a cuppa. Allow at least 90 minutes for a session.
2. Open in prayer – ask God to speak to you through the videos and in your discussion.
3. Watch the first video and then ask what the group is thinking. Use the questions to help guide your conversation, but the most important thing is that everyone can have the opportunity to speak and share their thoughts.
4. If the video raises questions you do not have answers for, jot them down and raise them with your coach or the Grow Course team.
5. Some conversations can be helped with the use of sticky notes or flipcharts. Don’t be afraid to be creative in how you capture your discussions.
6. At the end of the session, close in prayer and pray for your decisions and church.

2. How do you feel about the last barrier?
3. What steps can you take as individuals and as a church to address some of these barriers?

Watch the Leading change video.

1. Compare how each of you scored your church on readiness to change. Do you largely agree or disagree? Discuss why you gave the scores you did.
2. Spend some time now filling in the chart again with scores you agree on.
3. Which one or two areas should you address first?
4. Of the six change drivers, which do you relate to, and which need some work?
