Not to be stopped by the global pandemic, Pioneer School has moved online for this year’s cohort. Pioneer School is a training partnership between The London Diocese and Church Mission Society (CMS), and is hosted by the Gregory Centre (CCX).

Covering topics including discovering our unique gifting, developing leadership skills, how to theologically reflect on our practice, and developing social entrepreneurship and projects, the school runs from September 2020 to July 2021.

Members of this year’s cohort join us from all across the diocese including Twickenham, Barnet, Haggerston, Chiswick, and more! They also come representing projects and communities involved in embodiment and creative prayer, community food making, sports ministry, and women’s networks, amongst others.

Bishop Ric Thorpe who oversees the Diocese of London’s church planting work and also works nationally to support other dioceses to plant new churches said: ‘It’s great to see such a gifted and varied cohort coming together to learn and grow in their calling. As we move into the Diocesan vision for 2030, Pioneers will play an important and pivotal role, helping us to reach new people, in new places in new ways.’
